Eine erstaunliche Bilanz für eine Organisation, die gegen jegliches Töten von Tieren kämpft und öffentlich erklärt hat, dass es ethisch nicht einmal gerechtfertigt wäre, eine einzige Ratte im Tierversuch zu opfern, selbst wenn damit ein lebensrettendes Medikament entwickelt würde.

…For an organization that supports throwing blood on women wearing fur and protesting KFC, their sense of right and wrong seems out of balance. One of the facts that emerged during the trial is that PETA euthanized nearly 41,000 companion animals from July 1998 to December 2005. Somehow that fact slips through the crack in their $7 million annual Outreach and Education campaign.
This was all done under the euphemistically named Community Animal Project. Testimony in the trial indicates that PETA really has no intention of putting strays up for adoption. They have a large walk-in cooler to store carcasses in their headquarters and a contract with a company to dispose of them. The director of the project even stated in her testimony that they only find homes for stray pets on “a few occasions.” PETA doesn’t rescue animals; they kill them. I think they need to find the word “ethical” in the dictionary…
