A sense of humour, as well as intent, has arrived in London with more than 180,000 German football fans descending on the capital for tonight’s Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Alongside preparing for the biggest game in world club football, Dortmund were yesterday also handing out flyers with a picture of a red telephone box, a double-decker bus and a sunbed that was covered, almost inevitably, by a large beach towel. “You were hoping for a final between two English teams,” it read. “Or at least for a stadium full of hot chics from Spain. But instead you get the Krauts. Have fun.”
