Tuesday night a new Facebook group was set up to plan yet another demo
outside the Parliament this coming Friday. The group is is also
opposed to what it describes as “Norway’s war against Islam by placing
its soldiers in several of our beloved Muslim countries.” In one
posting a group member writes:
“Norwegian civilians are NOT innocent! They support the war on islam
and Muslims…and are thus also on the hitlist.”
This posting was removed shortly afterwards from the FB page, which
has about 170 members…..
Last Friday 50-100 demonstrators met outside the Parliament to express
their opposition to Koran burning.
The reason for this demo is a You Tube video that shows a burning
Koran. The video was made by two Kurds living in Norway who,
according to Norwegian authorities, have been threatened with death by
Mullah Krekar on account of this very action.
Mullah Krekar has been indicted for (among other things) having issued
death threats against the two Kurds. Krekar was at the head of the
demo march last Friday, and among other things praised the murder of
the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh….
One of the arrangers of last Friday’s demo was Krekar’s brother,
Khalid Faraj Ahmad. He does not wish to comment on last week’s demo to
NRK, other than to say that “it’s over now.”
Khalid Faraj Ahmad tells NRK.no that neither he nor Mullah K has
anything to do with Friday’s planned demo, and that he doesn’t know
who is behind it, either.
NRK.no has tried unsuccessfully to contact Mullah K via his lawyer,
Brynjar Meling….
((The rest of the article is basically the police saying they don’t
expect a big turnout on Friday, but will be there, and that they’re
not sure whether what has been written on Facebook violates Norwegian
law. And that Mohammed Moheyldeen, who was involved in the earlier
demo, is also active on the new Facebook group. NRK hasn’t managed to
get in touch with him, either.))
