Climate Change: as Dangerous as Al-Qaeda? Eine Debatte mit Stuart Clark, Benny Peiser and Gabrielle Walker, Chaired by Tony White
Location: Oxford University, Christ Church: Garden Marquee - nächsten Samstag - 18:00
Does climate change really matter? There are those who believe that human ingenuity should not be underestimated and that we could adapt to a
changing climate. Others take a more pessimistic view and counter that whilst groups of hunter-gatherers might have coped, it is unrealistic that
a population edging towards seven billion could be able to negotiate a world encountering dramatically changing weather and associated food production capacity. Some believe that mankind’s greenhouse gas emissions have no discernable effect on the weather. All sides of the argument will be covered by Gabrielle Walker, broadcaster and co-writer of Hot Topic; Stuart Clark, astronomy journalist and author of Sun Kings; and Benny Peiser, Director of the Global Warming Foundation. Chaired by Tony White who has worked extensively in the energy sector, is a founder of Climate Change Capital and is currently director of Ytilitu Limited.
