Klimapolitik treibt Briten in die Armut
The Government’s global warming advisor has predicted sharp rises in energy prices as he called for cuts of at least 34 per cent in Britain’s carbon emissions by 2020. - HOUSEHOLDS are facing large rises in their electricity bills in the coming decade because of the “dash” for renewables, according to an influential House of Lords report. Consumers across Britain face an extra £80 a year on their energy bills as a result of the Government’s commitment to source 15% of the UK’s power from renewables by 2020.—The National Housing Federation fears vulnerable families face a “feed the meter or feed the kids” dilemma this winter. In the past five years, the number of households that have plunged into fuel poverty has trebled, with over a quarter of all households across the Yorkshire region now feared to be struggling to pay their fuel bills.
