Klimahysterie: Schon wieder falscher Alarm
Die Erwärmung hat die Malaria-Krankheit nicht gefördert, im Gegenteil, sie wurde stark zurückgedrängt: A lot has been written about the relationship between malaria and climate change to the extent that many articles about the topic were in little doubt that as the global temperature increases so would the extent and veracity of the disease. This possibility makes the interrelationship between malaria and climate change a major, global public health issue. A new paper to be published in the journal Nature shows that when considered globally the issue has been grossly overplayed and that any worldwide changes in the spread of malaria die to climate change will be minor. Peter Gething and colleagues from the Malaria Atlas Project at the University of Oxfordconclude that claims that malaria’s spread and intensity will increase are at odds with its currently decreasing endemicity and global extent.
