Heute, am 11. Mai, wird Präsident Obama einen Empfang zu Ehren amerikanischer Poeten geben. Unter den Gästen wird auch Rita Dove sein, die Frau von Fred Viebahn. Sie wird einige ihrer Gedichte vortragen und dem Präsidenten die Glückwünsche des Achse-Teams zum Umgang mit Terroristen überbringen. WHITE HOUSE EVENTS STREAMED LIVE: “An Evening of Poetry”

On May 11th, the President and Mrs. Obama will host a celebration of American poetry. Participants include Elizabeth Alexander, Billy Collins, Common, Rita Dove, Kenneth Goldsmith, Alison Knowles, Aimee Mann and Jill Scott as well as Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. The event will be streamed live on http://www.whitehouse.gov starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.

As part of this celebration, Mrs. Obama will host a daytime workshop for students from California to New York at 2:00 p.m. ET, where students will work with and learn from many of the evening’s performers (incl. Elizabeth Alexander, Billy Collins and Rita Dove). This event will also be streamed live on http://www.whitehouse.gov.
