Und was hat Tuvia Tenenbom getan?
With BR cameras and producer behind me, I tried to infiltrate a neo-Nazi demo.
I did the HH thing and they immediately tried to protect me, saying I shouldn’t do this in public.
The police, many of them, we’re watching by and did not intervene.
I argued with my new friends that in a democracy we can do as we wish.
The people tried to block the BR crew for filming.
Arguments ensued.
Suddenly, one of my new friends noticed a mike the BR crew made me carry…and immediately realized the BR and myself were part of the same group.
They tried to push me out, but I fought them back.
The police were watching.
And the one of them yelled to the police that I did the Hitlergruß and should be taken care of…
The police detained me.
When away from the crowd, I told the police: Come on, I’m Jewish…!
Their response? So you’re from the Left, an agent provocateur… Your ID, bitte…!
We continued to talk, while he gave my ID to another officer to check my criminal record…
Finally I was let go.
That’s the way it is: Club 88 and many like it, stand tall and high for years and years and years. But don’t say the authorities here don’t do their best against Nazis. They do. They got me!
